Are Swollen Face And Joint Pain Side Effects Of Corcium C?

Hi Doctor . This patient consulted an Orthopedic Surgeon for a long standing pain and inflammation of her lower back bone & right side of pelvic region. After taking an X- ray he has prescribed these 4 medicines : Tab. Zerodol CR 200mg.- 10 tabs.1 tab daily after dinner. Cap. Izra D 1 Before Dinner Tab:Hi D 60 - Once a week - for 12 days Tab. Corcium C 1 daily for 3months. After taking the Corcium- C the patient had a swollen face and joints. And the joints are still slightly swollen and painful. What should we do?

Hi,

Corcium C (Calcitriol 0.25 MCG + Elemental calcium 225 MG + Elemental zinc 4 MG) should not produce angio-edema (swollen face). If any doubt, discontinue the drug and re-visit your doctor.
