Are Stiff Joints And Popping In The Thumb Related To Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

I have had e rays and tests done and have been told I have carpal tunnel. I had injections done a couple of months ago and it helped tremendously, however I m having problems again. I m now experiencing stiff joints in my hands and popping in my thumb joint. Is that likely carpal tunnel also causing that?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Stiff joints can be surely part of Carpel tunnel syndrome, but the popping in thumb is not related to the same. Additional work up for arthritis is a must in this instance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
