Are Repeated Breakouts Due To HPV Virus A Cause For Concern?

My daughter was diagnosed with the HPV virus (she kept having breakouts in her private parts and the meds they were giving her were not stopping the breakouts) and was told she needed to see an OBGYN over a month ago, however, she is a nanny and had planned a trip with the family she works for to Las Vegas...she has had another breakout there and has had another breakout and looks to me to have lost weight...we were told by our regular doctor that she would be alright until she got back in 2 more weeks...should I be concerned?

Hi,

They do increase the risk of cervical cancer so it is better to get an OBGYN consult.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
