Are Pain And Tenderness In Right Calf Suggestive Of Varicose Veins?

I recently has some pain in my right calf and it looks like I am getting varicose veins. My mom has them pretty bad. I am a 59 year old female, 5 2 and weigh 145. I now notice when I flex my calf there is about a 1 inch by 2 inch indentation. If I press or massage it s a little tender. I am pretty active although I don t exercise regularly. I take levothoroxyn and 10 mg statin. Got to keep an eye on my blood sugar. Any ideas?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the varicose vein being suspected then Doppler study is the option to rule this out although chances of it is very less likely but it seems to be a claudication, if I would be doctor of this case then I would treat this case with vitamin E, for the pain any analgesic can be tried, drink more water, try to keep the leg in elevated position at the time of sleep, hope this information helps.
