Are On And Off Contractions During 6th Week Of Pregnancy Sign Of An Alarm ?

I am 43 and pregnant. This is my fourth pregnancy and unexpected. I have had some contractions on and off for the last couple of days but mostly while in the car. I just got out of the car about an hour ago and they went away but are back now. I am only 6 weeks is this a sign for alarm?

Hello,
Indeed, persistent contractions with/without pain must be taken care of. It is common for some amount of pain to be perceived prior to and during the period of implantation, but not later. I would ask you to contact your consultant immediately and get proper advice. Meanwhile, please take absolute bed rest, avoid all strenuous activity including sexual intercourse; have adequate liquids and healthy diet. Please have a sonogram, preferably trans-vaginal to see the viability. Hope this helps.
