Are Nausea, Diarrhea And Fever Indicative Of Mononucleosis?

My 24 y/o daughter has been having nausea/ vomiting and diarrhea (green colored) for 3 days, low grade fever (100.7*F). Vomiting at night and diarrhea every 2-3 hours - more frequently if she eats something. Her 22y/o brother was diagnosed with mono ( lives 1 hr away but they were together the night before both started having symptoms). She had mono in high school. Thank you, Margaret

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
It's a very rare occurrence for mono to happen twice, and the symptoms are usually fever, sore throat, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes.

This sounds like a stomach virus but she may be in danger of becoming dehydrated and if the diarrhea continues beyond five days she needs a stool culture to rule out a bacterial colon infection, so it would be best for her to see a doctor now.
