Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Yes, oral (mouth) ulcers can occur with the use of
Meloxicam.
Incomplete data: Age, duration of treatment, any other associated symptoms??
You seem to have developed a serious adverse effect (Steven Johnson Syndrome) apparently caused by the pain killer Meloxicam. It is most commonly seen in elderly people who have been taking the drug for 1 - 6 months.
Recovery after
Stevens-Johnson syndrome can take weeks to months, depending on the severity of your condition.
First and fore most you need to permanently avoid that drug and others closely related to it. Then you are advised to consult a physician or
dermatologist for further management.
Antibiotics may be given to help treat an infection in your blood.
Antacids may be needed if sores grow in your stomach and cause bleeding.
Since, You are not able to eat and drink, you need to have
Total Parenteral Nutrition which is a liquid nutrition that provides your body with protein, sugar, vitamins, minerals, and sometimes fat (
lipids).
Local
anesthetic gels containing Lidocain will relieve the pain of blisters in the mouth.
An alternate but a safer pain killer for your
knee pain.
I also advise you to always wear a medical information bracelet or necklace. Have information about your condition and what caused it inscribed on a medical information bracelet or necklace.
Hope the suggestions given above would be useful.
