Are Mild Pains And Pink Discharge Common During Pregnancy?

hi, after a year of trying for a baby I ve found out 4 days ago that I am in my 6th week of pregnancy. Sometimes I feel mild pains or sharper but short spasms in my lower tummy. And today I had a pink discharge after visiting a toilet (had to do some gentle pushing :-). So I just wanted to ask if this is ok or should I contact my doctor to prescribe me something like Dhuphaston? Thank you! Martina

Hi,
Mild cramps and pulling sensation are common during very early pregnancy. This is due to the movements of the fallopian tube and the pulling effect on the supportive ligaments of the uterus as the uterus enlarges in size. Spotting is not noticed apart from the implantation bleeding that is seen at about the time of the expected period. If you notice spotting at any other time, it should be investigated. You would need a sonogram to check and also bed rest, observation, avoidance of stress and hormones if needed. Hope this helps.
