Are Irregular Periods At The Age Of 47 Suggestive Of Menopause?
I m looking for the BEST GYN in the NYC area, preferably someone who doesn t deliver babies anymore. Last year I had my period once a quarter and this year I haven t had it at all. I m a 47 yr old mother of two children now 13 and 15 both carried full term with no complications. Problem is I don t feel my doctor is proactive enough. Shouldn t I have had a hormorne test or something, can t she tell me if it s the onset of menopause?

Your GYN doctor could order FSH hormone test. If it is elevated it could be a sign of menopause. Please discuss this with your gynecologist.
