Hello,

Your partner might be using drugs and that might have resulted in overweight and hair loss. She needs to be taken to a psychiatrist and therapy to be started to withdraw drugs and wine. It is to be done under medical supervision like in a rehabilitation center.

Please do consult a psychiatrist. The following can be the reasons for loss of hair and weight gain:
1) Drugs
2) Hypothyroidism
3) PCOS
4) Pituitary tumors
5) Cushing's disease
So we need to rule out all the other organic causes by clinical examination and few tests.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
