Are Cold And Smelly Runny Ear Wax In An Infant A Cause For Concern?
Hi, my baby is 11 months she had a little cold about two weeks ago but recently I ve noticed runny ear wax in her ear it s not running down her neck or anything but there is a good bit of it and it s very strong smell . What could it be and does she need to be seen by doctor

Sore throat is due to bacterial infection and through the eustachian tube that infection is spread to the ear. This way her ear got infected, and is running. Pus and wax accumulated inside the ear canal comes out and it really has a bad odour and is definitely a point of concern.
Consult an Otorhinolaryngologist for proper investigations and treatment. Prognosis of the disease is good if treated early otherwise it may damage hearing and ear drum.
