Are Blood Thinners Necessary Before A Cardiovascular Procedure?

My 77 year old father had a cardioversion procedure today. And he told the doctor he has been on blood thinners. When we got back to the house this evening I discovered it has been over a week since he has taken any blood thinners. Do I need to contact someone and let them know. Is he in danger?

Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic.
He is not in danger and usually after such procedures, blood thinners should be discontinued for few days but 1 week may be too long period and he should consult cardiologist about further dosage as soon as possible.
I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
