Are Blood In Urine, Painful Abdomen And Swollen Bladder Suggestive Of Cancer?

A few weeks ago I had quite a bit of blood while urinating it happened a few times that night. 24 hours later I had pain in my right lower abdominal area. Went to emergency had a small bowel movement and urinated. It was better Dr thought I passed a kidney stone. Went for ct scan it shows swollen bladder gp arranefi for appointment with urologist. Last night I started having cramps and lower back pain. I was wondering if this is a sign of cancer or bladder infection

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The swollen bladder (mostly thick bladder wall), blood in urine with painful abdomen indicates the most possible condition as cystitis through bacterial infection. In my clinic, I do recommend a urine microscopy and culture for the further microbiologic diagnosis and cure accordingly. Till that time, drink plenty of liquids and get well soon.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
