Are Berries Effective In Controlling Hypertension?

How effective are berries in controlling hypertension I have been taking 3cups per day , each of raspberries, blue berries, and blackberries in addition to 2 teaspoonfuls of goji berries over the last 8 months and have succeeded in reducing my blood pressure from an average of 136/75 to 122/65 ( I have been on same medication for 10 years- attacand and norvasc)

Hypertension can not be cured. However, blood pressure can be kept under control by taking proper nutrition, medications and following a stress free with healthy lifestyle.
Several foods are known to lower blood pressure. These include: Alfalfa, Garlic, Parsley, Lemon, Fenugreek seeds, Jaundice berry, Indian gooseberry or Amla, Papaya and Beetroot juice.
Use of berries like blueberries and strawberries have several naturally occurring compounds that protect us against hypertension and help lower blood pressure.
Berries causes arteries to dilate and thus help to decrease blood pressure. In addition, it also contains certain antioxidants, which protects tissues against damage due to oxidative stress.
Hence, use of foods such as berries, along with medications could help in effectively controlling blood pressure.
