Are Antibiotics The Cause For Delayed Periods?

I was taking two antibiotics for an abscessed tooth for two weeks. I was supposed to get my period 8 days ago and I am always on time. I only stopped taking my antibiotics about a week and a half ago. I had protected sex while I was on the antibiotics. Are the antibiotics causing my period to be late?

Hi & Welcome.
No, the antibiotics do not cause delayed periods.
Periods can be irregular at times, specially if you suffer from stress, infection (like dental abscess) or emotional disturbances. Wait for few days as your period might come. Since you seem to had a protected sex while taking antibiotics, the chances of pregnancy are unlikely.
Consult a gynecologist if the periods do not start after 7 days. Hope this helps you.
