Are A Few Intramural/subserous Fibroid Masses Found In A CT Scan Report The Reason For Difficulty In Conceiving?

please Dr, I m 28 years of age trying to get pregnant, I just went for a CT scan and the result state that both Ovaries are prominent, containing multiple varied-sized follicles and there is a bulky anterverted uterus measuring 9.0 cm *8.5 cm *6.8cm without signs of endometrial decidual reaction. And also a few intramural/subserous fibroid masses with the largest measuring 6.5cm * 5.6cm.please can you explain the result to me and what are my chances of getting pregnant base on the result.thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

MRI and ultrasound are more sensitive for evaluation of uterus and endometrium as compared to ct scan. Your report simply tells that your uterus is enlarged due to fibroids. The fibroids can interfere with pregnancy but most patients do conceive in-spite of having fibroids. You can consult your gynecologist and he/she might give you medications accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
