Are Vitamin B-12 Injections Advisable For A Person With No Ileum?

I have no ileum due to small intestine resections many years ago (2), then later a blockage. My new doctor took me off of the injections recently and I do not understand why. I have given my own injections since the 1980 s, when it was discovered that I had pernicious anemia. Do B-12 tablets or the liquid have the same ability as the injections do? I was told they do not. I m not too sure he really knows what he s doing as he is not a gastroenterologist, he s just a family doctor. I haven t lived in GA but a short time, and frankly, I hate to just choose a gastroenterologist from the yellow pages. This is not a nice disease and can be very dangerous, so I want one that is familiar with the problem. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. YYYY@YYYY
