Are Secnidazol And Fluconazol Good For Treating Amoeba Infections?

I was diagnosed with an ameba while temporarily staying in Ecuador. It was said that I may have obtained it from digesting tap water. I was also diagnosed with an intestinal fungi. I was prescribed two tablets of Secnidazol (total 2g) per day for two days for the ameba and was prescribed one capsule of Fluconazol (150mg) every five days. Is this good medicine? It took me 4 doctor visits to finally get them to run stool sample and urine tests. Thanks

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Its true that amoeba spread through polluted tap water but Secnidazol and Fluconazol are not proper medicine for treating amoeba infections.
They both are anti fungal medicines and only used for fungal diseases in body.
For amoeba infections, tablet metonidazole 4oo mg taken twice a day is the best medicine.
Other medicines are also available for amoeba infections.
Please consult proper physician and get the urine and blood tests done.
Thanks for contacting us.
Have a healthy life ahead.
Take care...
