Are Prichekm1 And Ecospirin Safe To Take For High Blood Sugar Levels?

My husband has type 2 DM, due to blockage PTCA & STENTING to LAO was done on Nov12. He is now taking CARDACE 2.5, PROLOMET XL25,CETAPINXR500,MODILIPASG 10/75. As his sugar level remain high for last two month doctor has prescribed PRICHEKM1 & ECOSPIRIN GOLD 10 instead of the last two medicin. Why the doctor has done so?

Regarding your doubt on PrichekM1--it's an anti diabetic drug which contains two constituents Metformin 500 and Glimepride 1mg..Cetapin XR 500 contains only Metformin.When the sugar values are high especially after food blood sugar ,Metformin alone may not be enough.Hence your doctor did a nice job by adding Glimepride for better sugar control.Its a safe drug but you have to make sure that your husband takes food on time.
Ecospirin Gold 10 is a combination of two anti-platelet drugs and cholesterol lowering drug.The anti platelet drugs are aspirin and clopidogrel.Atorvastatin is the cholesterol lowering drug.These drugs essential for coronary artery disease patient(previous history of PTCA).
