Are Montina L And Duolin The Right Medication For Severe Cough?

Hello Doc, My father is having cigars and alcohol since years & now he realized to give them up he reduced the intake and he is having breathing problems and a heavy cough max. in a day. He consulted by a doctor and doc suggested to some medicines later on changed it to delcar forte,montinaL-C along with seroflo250 & duolin cause my dad is having a face bulge and breathing problem. Do the new ones cause more side effects or it ll be good continuing? Will he going to get a good healthier life again ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Chronic smoking can cause irreversible bronchial obstruction. So constant bronchodilators like duolin and seroflo as well as combination of anti histamines and mast cell stabilzers like montinal l will be needed. These medications will be helpful to relieve the symptoms. But if you have the mentioned symptoms then consult your respiratory physician to rule out heart problems associated with this like cor pulmonale.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
I find this answer helpful
