Advise Diet For A Person Suffering From Primary Biliary Cirrhosis

Thanx Doc, my daughter,24yr old was diagnosed with primarybiliarycirrhosis 6mths ago. She is presently on a list for liver transplant, when the timing is right. At present, she is waiting for a biopsy and as each week goes she is becoming more extremely tired and worn out. I am interested in finding out what could she add to her diet or healthfoods to help her through this very tiring wait. Thank you, Fiona

Hi

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. If you can, go for five servings every day.Opt for moderate amounts of lean meats. The recommended amounts will vary.Go for unsaturated fats like Omega 3fattyacids, extra virgin olive oil, nuts and fatty fish like salmon.Choose whole grains and complex carbohydrates. Whether it’s cereal, crackers, breads or rice, always choose the whole grain variety.Coffee and Tea should be limited to once a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
