A Few Months Ago The Dentist Told Me That The

A few months ago the dentist told me that the pulp in one of my lower right teeth, the third one from the back of my jaw, was mushy and needed to be fixed. I never had it fixed. A few weeks ago the tooth started to ache. I hoped it would go away. It has but not before it became excruciatingly painful and at the end it felt like there was enormous pressure inside the tooth. I went to bed and the next morning, no toothache but I had what I thought was a pimple on my chin, directly in front of the tooth that had been hurting, only a bit closer to my jaw. Gross stuff came out of it but I don't know if it was pus. Fast forward a few days. When I apply pressure to the so called pimple I can feel a hard lump and it feels like its on my jaw bone. It hurts when pressure is applied and extends to what feels like the root/nerve of the tooth that originally hurt. Also I have a crown next to the tooth that hurt and whenever they work near it, it makes everything they do intensify. The area around the pimple also feels numb to the touch, extending towards my chin and ear. Help, tell me why I need to get it checked out so I will buck up and make an appt.
