A CAT-Scan Revealed An Acute Appendicitis That I'd Had For

A CAT-Scan revealed an acute appendicitis that I'd had for 15 days (I thought I had a pulled abdominal muscle). I reported to the VA hospital the next day and was admitted. I stayed two nights and was on an intravenous, broad-spectrum, antibiotic the whole time. I've been home since the 22nd of Dec. and have been on two antibiotics; Metronidazole and Cefuroxime, as well as a stool softener; Docusate. I was told I was not a good candidate for surgery as I had waited too long to seek medical help and that it would be best if I waited until the inflammation subsided before I had an appendectomy. It was recommended that I get on something to replenish my digestive bacteria that was being destroyed by the antibiotics. What would be your suggestion?
