88 year old female who 16 days ago had acute onset of vomiting and diarrhea, severe. Admitted and put on IV fluids and antibiotics, Cipro and Flagyl. Blood cultures done which were negative, CT of abdomen negative. Urinalysis and other blood tests negative. In hospital five days, diarrhea and vomiting better. Discharged home. Since home, diarrhea and vomiting gone. Symptom now is a sudden lethargy and altered state 10-15 minutes following the swallowing of any food or drink. Sleeps for 2-3 hours and then wakes and feels better though still somewhat weak.
