3 Year Old Daughter, Having Rash On Leg, Peeling Around, Getting Bigger. Advice?

Hello I am writing in regards to my 3 years old daughter. She has a rash on her leg that has stared out the size of a dime and is not probably about 2 inch circle now.. It keeps peeling around the edges and is oozing a clear to yellowish color. We took her to the hospital on thursday night and they thought it was something called a bullea and to just let it dry out. But it keeps just peeling and getting bigger and bigger.. the inside is now dry and scaly but the outside is puffy with liquid in it.. Any help would be great!!!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Bullous lesions are present in skin trauma, chickenpox, impetigo, contact dermatitis, pemphigus, and other certain skin conditions.

History and physical examination is important to know the diagnosis.

Impetigo requires antibiotic therapy.

Allow them to try by themselves.

Consult the dermatologist for the physical examination and for specific treatment depending on the nature of this skin lesion.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

HIV AIDS Specialist Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
It could be due to bacterial infection and called as bullous type Impetigo. Your child may need a course of antibiotic and a drying lotion for external use. It will arrest the oozing, spreading of the lesion and helps for healing. Consult your dermatologist, he/she will guide you further.
