10 y/o experienced trauma of having wrist twisted/bent back, and a fall. Heard a popping sound at time, pain and tenderness forearm, thumb. Wrist clicks with movement, has full use of fingers, however it is 5 days post injury, and still refuses to use thumb due to pain. There is mild swelling in the lower thumb area, some numbness felt on outside of thumb, tenderness at snuff box. Negative X-ray 30 hours after injury. Was initially diagnosed with wrist sprain, but is it possible it is a scaphoid fracture?
