HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is no interaction between these medications. Insulin can be used with metformin, it is commonly combined.

Metformin causes the blood sugar to lower towards normal but does not cause hypoglycemia which means it would not contribute to any low blood sugars that can be caused by insulin

You do not need to stop one to add the other. The insulin dose may need to be lowered when you add metformin however because this would also be trying to control the blood sugar

You would need to monitor to determine how to adjust the dose
