Brief Answer:
Gastroenteritis typical case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting Ask a Doctor service for your query,
Have seen the photo of fish and worm attached.
The symptoms you are describing are mostly suggestive of gastroenteritis (commonly called food poisoning due to work infested fish), which is the infection of the intestine. Thats why there is inflammation in intestines causing stomach upset and pain in abdomen.

Stool analysis and culture are required to confirm the diagnosis.
Management is with antibiotics (usually a combination of Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole) for which you will need a prescription. So please be advised to follow up with the urgent care.
Avoid breast feeding fir four hours after taking the dose.
However as such it's safe during breast feeding yet to be on safe side avoid breastfeed ing for 4 hours.

Meanwhile, drink plenty of water and electrolyte containing drinks like Gatorade. Follow soft diet.

You can also take Buscopan 10 mg thrice daily for abdominal cramps.

No need to take albendazole. That is for worm infestation and not ingestion.

Hope this answers your query

hi doctor thanks for your reply. i have not mentioned that my stomach pain was so much that i had to go to Emergency. they gave Zofran and also Famotidine tablets. and lidocaine. usg ultrasound was fine. they gave CBC test and attached is the result. my Eosinophil last month was 177 and now it is so high. does it mean i got the parasitic infection already? is stool test still needed?

also in my stool I see white color small things and around 1 inch red thing just like it was in the fish. if i take albendazole, how long I should i not breast feed for my peace of mind?

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
No stool tests are not required.
Eosonophilic count is suggestive of parasitic infection.

Take a 7 day couseof Albendazole.
400 mg tablet once daily(Chew it and not swallow) last thing in night.
As far as breast feeding is concerned albendazole was barely secreted in milk as such.
In a standard study conducted by NCBI(Govt agency of U.S.A) albendazole sulphoxide was analysed through the 36 h of the study, and it was concluded that albendazole and albendazole sulphoxide attain levels in breast milk that are unlikely to be considered harmful for the breastfed infant.

Follow up after 7 days.
For stomach pain use Buscopan.
Thanks
