Question: hello doctor. i had just been for a medical test. the doctor says i have an extra growth downwards from the cervix and suggested trans vaginal scan. just wanted to know what the possible cause could be. i do not have any uncomfortable symptoms so far. thankyou doctor..

I read your query and here is my advice.
An extra growth downwards the cervix may be caused by a polyp on cervix. There is not any specific cause but herpes papilloma virus may be a cause. I think colposcopy and biopsy may be needed.
Spotting after menstrual cycle may be a symptom of it.
