Brief Answer:
different possible causes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are different causes and types of hair loss.

It is called alopecia and it can essentially be grouped into 3 categories : (1)disturbance of the hair follicle
(2)disturbance of the hair shaft
(3)disturbance of the hair cycle- normally there is a period of growth and one of shedding

Hair loss can be(1)hereditary- this means that there is a family history of hair loss. This is known as male pattern baldness or female pattern shedding.
It can occur at any time, most commonly in the teens, 20's or 30's
There are some meds such as minoxidil or spirnolactone that can sometimes help (used in women

(2) can also occur if there has been recent severe illness, thyroid disease, anemia, recent surgery, inadequate oral intake of protein or crash diet,
Blood tests to check the blood count and thyroid would rule out any of these conditions

(3)there are some persons who lose hair as a result of an autoimmune disease this means that the body is reacting or acting against itself
Blood tests can also check on this as well and there are medications available that can help this condition as well

An assessment by a dermatologist would determine if any of these conditions is present and would allow for the appropriate treatment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other medications
