From birth my child is having this cough problem .His age is 8 months. Day by day it seems increasing. The cough is not dry.sometimes he has breathing problem.we visited doctor and he prescribed a medicine Mantra but whenever we try to give him he started vomiting. It is not only for this medicine, we cannot give him any medicine as he started vomiting.
Brief Answer:
Is it every day cough?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Need more clarifications.
1. Do you mean he has cough every day through out the last 8 months with occasional breathing difficulty? Or did you mean he has recurrent episodes of cough which resolves to recur again?
2. Does he vomit after feeds too (or only after medications)?
If your child is feeding well, is active, gaining weight appropriately, then occasional episodes of cough are not concerning. However if the cough is an every day problem and has occasional breathing difficulty then it should be evaluated thoroughly. Battery of blood tests, X-ray as well as echocardiogram is recommended.
But if the problem is not every day problem, but repeated episodes of cough, then it should resolve as the child grows.
I look forwards to your confirmation before commenting further.
