Question: I have been told that I have chronic pain nerve damage from a back surgery. I am now going to a Pain Clinic as they say there is nothing they can do for me but give me meds for the pain I'm in all the time. Would capsicum help with the pain without interferring with my drugs. I also am on HP meds

Thank You,

Brief Answer:
Yes, Capsaicin can help with your pain!

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Capsaicin, especially the patch, can help with your pain. Because it is applied topically, it doesn't interfere with your medications.

While it seems harsh, saying your pain is not amenable to surgery is an honest answer I will like to see more and more from my colleagues. I am happy your doctors have been honest with you on this.

My recommendation is that you follow up with the pain clinic and let them identify a regimen that works adequately to address you painfully. I wish you the best with this. Lest I forget, it might take a while for the best drugs/combination and dosages to be established, do exercise some patience as they go through this.

Hope I have answered your query.
