Question: I am almost four week post op from an abdominal wall reconstruction. About 5 days ago I noticed a huge lump (bigger then my 10cm Hernia) come up with a lot of pain. It’s very hard can not be pushed in even if I could handle the pain it is also bruised over the entire area. Is this a normal effect from the surgery? Should I go to the Er?

Brief Answer:
Upload Pictures please

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

At ouset it appears that it is not wait and watch problem. If there is a lump coming bigger than 10cm, it should be examined about characteristics. Was mesh placed during abd wall reconstruction? recurrence common if not placed.
It would be good if you can upload picture. else I suggest to see your operating surgeon again.
I am not sure if surgeon to be available in your ER.
