Brief Answer:
Outer ear infection treatment.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I think you may be sufficient for otitis externa an outer ear infection known as swimmer ear.

The water left inside the ear canal can become a breeding ground for bacteria.
The frequent cleaning of ears, narrow ear canal, use of headphones or a hearing aid, as well as skin allergies, eczema, and skin irritation from hair products also increase the risk of developing an outer ear infection.
To treat it you can use.
* Antibiotic +corticosteroid eardrops to fight infection and lower inflammation
* Pain relievers such Advil, paracetamol
* Cotton ball to close ear canal entrance from water
* Warm compresses for pain
* Maybe oral antibiotics if it doesn't go away with drops

Hope I have answered your questions.

Thanks so much, appreciate your answer however, the only time my ears are subject to water is when I take a shower and wash my hair. I do clean my ears often but I do not use headphones, hearing aids and use very little hair products.
I will try the warm compresses and see if I can get ear drops over the counter.
