Could Sciatic Issue Have Anything To Do With Symptoms Of Congestion And Depression Only In The Mornings?
Question: Why do I feel so bad only in the mornings? Congestion and depression. Once I am up and take my blood pressure medicine and Claritin I start to feel better. I take a nap after lunch and it makes me feel much better than my full night sleep. I dread waking up in the mornings because I always feel so congested and depressed. I also have hot flashes that last almost a full hour. I do not have flashes any other time of the day. I use a hormone patch. I have a wonderful life and should be very happy but some mornings I feel I cannot face the day. I do have a huge problem with sciatica. I am scheduled for surgery May 15th where they will be scraping off all of the arthritis and fusing my L-5 to my L-4. Could this sciatic issue have anything to do with the symptoms I have described?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and understand your concerns.
Diurnal variation in mood (worse in morning) is more closely related to depression provided you have other symptoms. In case other symptoms of depression are not present post menopausal syndrome is another possible cause for feeling blue in morning.
Sciatica is unlikely to be a cause for morning worsening of mood or depressed and congested feeling in morning hours.
I hope this answers you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
