Brief Answer:
Due to its categorisation; not because of side effects sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Piracetam, aniracetam were introduced as dietary supplement and is a derivative of the body's natural supplement called GABA. The FDA has specific and strict rules on supplements, and they have to be either one of the following:

+Herbal extract
+Botanical compound
+Metabolite of a dietary ingredient
+Constituent of a dietary ingredient
+Extract of a dietary ingredient
+Combination of a dietary ingredient
+Vitamin
+Mineral
+Amino acid

If a supplement is none of the above listed items, then it will not be approved by the FDA, which after debate resulted in it being banned. This was the main reason it was banned, not because of any side effects or any reported issues from users.

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Perfectly safe sir, wishing you luck

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

My sincere apologies for the delayed response, been having a busy day in the OT.

Aniracetam once released into the market was being studied for long term side effects, and fortunately there have been no long-term side effects reported, especially as the effect of these drugs improves with time. Although, like most other drugs tolerance does increase demanding an increase in dosage with time, but in my opinion the drugs are extremely safe as quoted by researchers.

I hope and pray you enjoy life to the fullest with the help of these supplements and please do not ever hesitate to write to me for any health-related query, I am always here to help.

Best wishes sir.
