When Should The First Ultrasound Be Done After Pregnancy Confirmation?
Question: The question is about my wife. She is pregnant (Confirmed by doctor) and her last period was on date 27-Oct-2014. When should she have her first ultrasound?

With her LMP on 27th october 2014 , she is 5 weeks and 4 days as on today ( 6th december).
The first ultrasound is called the dating scan and it should be at 7 weeks period of gestation , that is 10 days from now, on 16th of december 2014.
This would be the time ,when intrauterine pregnancy can be clearly confirmed and heart beat of the fetus can be easily appreciated.
