Question: Last night when I got out of bed I was extremely dizzy. I lowered myself to the floor twice because I felt I was going to pass out. I called for help and sat in a chair. I passed out and was told later that My whole body stiffened up and my eyes rolled back in my head. my feet were rubbing back and forth on the floor. I was having a problem breathing and finely spit up very thick fluid, The whole thing lasted 10 -15 minutes. What could have caused this?

Brief Answer:
We need to exclude a seizure.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, we need to exclude a diagnosis of seizure. The symptoms are suggestive of a generalized seizure. A brain scan and EEG would be helpful. As this is the first episode, we also need to check glucose, calcium and sodium levels in the blood, as any derangements in their levels could also cause a seizure.

I hope my answer helps. Wishing you good health.
