What Is The Ideal Penile Length For A 8 Year Old Child?

Question: My child XXXX is 8 years and 8 months . i feel his penis size is small.
How should we know what should be size at this age . should we consult any doctor ?
which type of specialized doctors required for consultaion.

Hi.... penile length has to be calculated from the base of the shaft, excluding the surrounding fat pad around the penile shaft.

I have a few questions for you, please answer them so that I will be able to guide you better.

Questions -

1. Is your child obese?

2. What is his exact date of birth and current weight and height?

3. When you were a kid of his age how was your ppenile length? I am asking this question because even this could be genetically mediated.

4. Can you stretch the surrounding fat pad around the penis of your child and measure the stretched penile length with an inch tape and get back to me with the length?

5. If you are not able to measure the length perfectly, I suggest first you consult with your pediatrician regarding this.

6. The Other Specialist whom you can consult will be a Pediatric Endocrinologist.

Hi.... I have calculated the weight of your kid according to the date of birth. His weight is at 95th percentile which means he is slightly obese. You have not mentioned his height so I am not able to calculate the BMI. As he is slightly obese I do not think you need to worry about the length of the penis as it might be covered by the surrounding fat pad. But to be hundred percent sure I suggest you meet a paediatric endocrinologist.

Brief Answer:
Height and BMI are normal, weight slightly obese

Detailed Answer:
BMI is 20.1 -normal
Weight is at 95th percentile
Height is in between 75th to 90th percentile.

Except for weight other parameters seem to be normal. But as his weight is under slightly obese range, I suggest you need either your pediatrician or Pediatric Endocrinologist.
