What Is The Dosage Of Calcipotriol For Pysriosis In My Leg?

Question: Hello sir,
I m having pysriosis in my leg and using Pasitrex oinment(CALCIPOTRIOL ) . is it ok
and using 1 times in a day. so how long it should take . is it ok oinment or any other oinment is good for pyriosys.

I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern.
Calcipotriol ointment is fine. However, for psoriasis localized to the legs I suggest you to also use a moisturizer, 2-3 times a day. Over that you may continue with the application of calcipotriol ointment (Pasitrex ointment) during the day and at night I suggest you to use a potent topical steroid e.g either clobetasol propionate 0.05 %ointment (Tenovate ointment) or Halobetasol propionate 0.05 %ointment (Halovate ointment). Just like calcipotriol ointment, topical steroids are prescription medications and I advice you to kindly talk to your local practitioner for a prescription of the same. Continue with calcipotriol ointment and topical steroid ointment for 2-4 weeks and then follow up.

Hello Dr,
From above ans what I understand that Pasitrex i must used in day time and Night time i must take (Halovate ointment) for next 3-4week. Is it like that only or something diffrent.

Hi,

Yes, you got it right. Also use a moisturizer, twice daily. Use ointments after 30 minutes of using moisturizer. In addition I suggest you to take an oral antihistamine e.g Cetrizine 10mg tab once every evening for symptomatic relief from itching.
