Brief Answer:
Low sperm count

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about semen analysis.

Sperm count is low. This needs to be more than 15 million per ml which is 12 million per ml in your report.

Continue these medicines for one month and repeat the semen analysis in another standard laboratory.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your reply.
Why I am really sceptical about my doctor's diagnosis is because of following facts:
1) he told me that mobility of sperm is very poor, considering only rapid progression. However, as I have read in your forum and other internet sites, which says total progression (rapid + slow) should be above 50-55%, which is in my report.
2) he told me that percentage of normal sperm is low at only 48%. But when I read WHO guidelines and other internet sites, which says normal sperm about 30% is ok.
3) also someone told me total sperm count per ejacuation is: 60 million, which is normal But as semen volume is high, sperm got diluted to 12 million/ml. But total count matters more.
You are requested to please clear my doubts and tell me if mobility, % of normal sperms, and total sperm count is normal or not.

Also, i was using lubrication during intercourse till now, but read in healthcare forum that maximum are spermicidal. Is there any lubrication available we can use to conceive.
Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Normal motility and morphology

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Let me clarify your doubts :

1) Your motility and morphology are normal. I didn't find anything wrong.

2) Your Count is low per million.

3) Even though volume is more count per ml is important. Hence I suggest you repeat semen analysis again in a standard laboratory.

4) Don't use any lubrication. Lubrication will be spermicidal.

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your reply. Your guidance has been really helpful to me. However, i would like to ask you two more things:
1) Lubrication is bit essential for me or else it is painful for me during intercourse. Instead of using cosmetic lubricants, is the usage of vegetable oil like mustard oil in small quantities (for penetration purpose) also prohibited?

2) should I continue with the medicines prescribed and then go for a sperm analysis after one month, or should I go for a sperm analysis now and then decide if medicines are required.

Brief Answer:
Repeat semen analysis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No lubrication are safe try to spend more time in foreplay to increase mucous secretion which acts as lubrication.

Repeat semen analysis in another standard laboratory in your town before taking medicines.
