Question: hi,
I have done FNAC test as suggested by doctor and please refer to attached FNAC report. We are thinking to postpone the surgery by one year or after kids. Please suggest if this is possible and there are any complications.
is it really required to remove this lump. doctor said that no guarantee if it comes back after removal.

SO should i go for surgery and remove it.
Thanks in Advance

Brief Answer:
It can be managed conservatively.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

FNAC report suggests that swelling in right breast is due to benign lesion.
You shouldn't worry at all. There are no malignant cells in the specimen.

Benign proliferative disorders in breast is common among young ladies. It may be due to adenosis, epithelial hyperplasia, fibroadenoma etc.
There is no need of immediate surgery,it can be managed conservatively.

But you should be careful regarding rapid increase in size of lump, associated pain, blood discharge through nipple etc. These conditions need immediate attention. There is slightly increased cancer risk even in benign proliferative disorders,so you should be cautious.

You should consult your surgeon and in my opinion you can have follow up and can plan for your baby.Surgery can be postponed for a year.

Your doctor has rightly said that there is no guarantee if it comes back after removal because it is hormone dependent and it can recur.
