Brief Answer:
Subclinical hypothyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

She is having Subclinical hypothyroidism. I suggest you to do blood tests:

1. Anti TPO antibodies
2. Serum cholesterol
3. Thyroid ultrasound if possible or a clinical examination by a doctor to see if she is having thyroid swelling.

Subclinical hypothyroidism doesn't need treatment always. The indications for treatment are:

1. Increased anti TPO antibodies
2. high cholesterol
3. Presence of goitre ( thyroid swelling)
4. Pregnancy or planning for pregnancy.

If any of these is there, she should be started on thyroid hormone replacement after consulting a doctor. Thyroxine 25 mcg per day is the usual dose to start with.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.
