Question: What does this mean in an MRI report of a knee?
Approximate 9 x 6 mm subchondral fracture with minimal irregularity and flattening
of the subchondral bone involves the weightbearing surface of the medial femoral
condyle. Extensive surrounding bone marrow edema signal.
2. Generalized mild chondral thinning of the weightbearing surfaces of the medial joint
compartment. No evidence for a chondral defect.
3. There is a small to moderate-sized segment of grade I to II chondromalacia
involving the central surface of the lateral patellar facet. No other evidence for
chondromalacia involving the knee.
4. No evidence for a lateral meniscus tear. The cruciate ligaments are intact.
5. There is a tiny knee joint effusion, without loose body.
