Brief Answer:
its a fluid collection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Its means there is a fluid collection inside your submandibular gland mostly due to blocked duct obstructing the outflow of its secreations.

It can be aspirated with a needle, and if it reoccurs the gland needs to be excised.

Hope i have been helpful.

Brief Answer:
they are different

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yes gland and node are different. But its the gland that can get cystic not the node. Nodes are solid structures.

I also had a thought about it when you had first askedasked about it, but then thought that sometimes there can be typing error in the report.

So i would suggest that you consult with your doctor for a clinical examination for proper diagnosis and management.
