default
Posted on Mon, 10 Sep 2018
Question: I have been experiencing a hard distended upper stomach, right under my left chest. It feels very hard and gives uncomfortable pressure most of the time. it is on my left side and does not seem to change with any specific foods or drinks, unless I drink a lot of fluid, and then it seems to increase pressure. I have been experiencing this for a couple of months, and it has become steadily more consistant. No gas, and no diareah

Brief Answer:

You need Consultation & investigations -earliest.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Painless, hard abdomen, getting consistent day by day, on left side of upper stomach without any digestive & acidity issues is likely to arise from organs underneath

-Rib,tail of pancreas, upper part of left kidney , descending colon or splenic problems.

A swelling with hyper echoic lesions within without pain or other symptoms except for pressure care likely to be

-Non harmful deposits of minerals (calcium) along with fibrosis in spleen/ splenic swelling , inflammation / abscesses/

- Benign lesion in spleen or descending colon , bone of rib/hemangiomas(related to blood vessels), lymphangiomas ( connected to lymphatics-may be congenital.

Which can turn into benign or malignant form in later life), metastatic.

I have discussed only possibilities here. Abdomen being called a Magic box having many organs packed in it exact type & origin would be evident only after MRI of abdomen.

Finally I suggest earliest consultation of a surgeon for detailed physical examination & needful investigations to pin point diagnosis & specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
