What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: I am a diabetic. I have 2 meters. One is a freestyle lite for which I have outdated strips. I also have a CVS meter with in date strips. I used a testing solution and both gave 94 as a result. When I test my blood the meters have a difference. For example: freestyle will be 178 CVS will be 250 or another instance freestyle was 185 and CVS was 301. I have no insurance and do not want waste the freestyle strips if I don't have to

Hello. Thanks for writing to hcm. Well in your case since there is such a discrepancy in values I suggest you take both the meters and visit a lab. Get your venous sample checked for blood sugar. At the same time check sugars with both the meters. It will give you a good idea as to what is accurate. Expired strips are however not recommended at all. Take care. Regards.
