What Does My CT Scan Test Report Indicate?
Question: 51 year old male non smoke never had HBP either 6ft 200i;bs
recently had ct scan of heart
mild ectasia of the aorta at the root about 4.1cm and the mid ascending aorta at the level of the right main pulmonary artery measure 4 cm both unchange from last year CT scan. ALso the mild prominence of acsending aorta at 3.7 unchange from last year. All other vitals in normal range. heart normal size w/o pericardial effusion.
Give the above do i need yearly CT scan to monitor any issues above? Do you i need to be concern about my ct report? thx v much

I read your query and understood your concerns.
It's a great thing that your CT scan results were without any change from last year examination. This show that the dilatation of aorta has remain unchange, which has a good prognosis.
However you have to follow up with anual cardiac echo and ct scan to monitor the progression of aorta. If the aorta dilate with more than 1 cm in a year it should be treated with cardiac surgery.
