default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: My right leg is burning and very sensitive to the touch. It lookks like my veins are spiderwebs. In my thigh area ther is a large vein close to the inner thigh that is bulging and has a large lump on it. I can feel my heart beating when I touch the protruding vein. Feels like my leg is in fire. I really need some help as soon as possible.

Brief Answer:
Is your leg swollen? Is it red? Do you have a fever? Upload an image, too!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed your information carefully and at this time, they do not point to a clear cut disease condition. I will like to have some more information in order to be able to make the right calls. I am looking to probe further into a possible soft tissue infection, Deep vein blood clot or possible infection of the veins. For this, I will like that you report whether the leg is swollen, whether you have a fever and whether it is red. I will also appreciate that you upload an image for review. This would be of great in in identifying what the possible causes are and providing helpful recommendations to address this.

To upload an image, click on the link to upload a file on your user interface and follow the instructions. I will review the image and the responses as soon as they come in and provide more insights.

For now, I recommend rest and apply ice packs to relief the pain. I will recommend against any pain medication at this time because some pain medications may worsen an infection. Until we role that out, I will say no.

I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience. I wish you well.
