What Does A Painless Bump On The Skin After Insect Bite?

default
Posted on Sat, 17 Jun 2017
Question: 3 months after I got bitten by some kind of insect it left a hard but painless bump on my skin. It never itched but when I got bitten there was pain. Now, I am left with a hard bump that I would like removed. Seems I can see a tiny black dot in the middle of that bump. what do you think this is? And can it be removed? it is not painful, just annoying and I do not like to see it there.

Brief Answer:
Keloid

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Probably you have developed keloid.
It is a fibrous growth as the site of any injury.
I treat such cases with silicon gel to be applied twice daily for a month.
It is safe and effective and usually available over the counter.
If possible upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and better way of management.
Waiting for your response.
Thank you
